Amazing guide, so in depth! Only thing left out was skill customization, which isn’t a big deal at all. Though, I did have a question. For something like empty retribution. Is the dmg boost magic better than lets say arcana of lightning?
Dmg boost magic is only 1.1+ ki cost while lightning is 1.4, which seems like big difference. Though, since your familiars fade much faster than purity does, is it worth putting an element on your attacks while higher ki cost or using dmg boost magic/const etc.?
Well this explains why every boss basically one shots me but i normally make it through the levels fairly easily, im on my first run and at Dawn of the Demon (only mission i have skipped is the one with ren hyabusa dude kills me before i can get a hit in) and im looking at my stats like, ah thats the problem then everything is at 30 except dex and magic that are at 15 and stamina at 40, never really settled on a weapon type just using whatever the gives me thats better

Guide is all over the place. You don't even show the helm? Like why not go through every armor piece and talk about which pieces can have life recovery on amrita absorbtion, since that's the entire build and the rest of the gear stats don't even matter. Quite frustrating to "use" this guide instead of rewatching the entire video to maybe find one thing I want to know and then you never show it.
Not doing this build but this video helped a lot with some of the info...
Worked in 6 peice Inari with this build while going through DOTD. Easy to incorporate with one peice of armor and the four weapons with Yasakani. Gonna roll this build into your Oyamatsumi/Purity build when I get into higher difficulties.

this is incredibly well explained and well presented. i beat nioh 1 by making a fire spear and i remember distinctly how easy the game became after i built. as in without a build, i couldnt handle the game. loved that game. been trying to get into nioh 2 but i get thrashed so bad i recently downloaded a trainer and started playing though it in unlimited demon mode, if just to experience it, sad as that may be. im already building pure magic so i will be trying this for sure. you reminded me of my nioh 1 experience, and now im hopeful and confidant that when i try this the experience will be similar. thanks.
