I have update my Sync 3 infotainment system to the latest version! Last year I did a video that was part vlog where I showed you how to update the Ford SYNC 3 system in the MK3 Focus RS (also applies to any Ford car that has the same SYNC 3 infotainment system!) using the official Ford website where you input your vehicle details and then get the appropriate files which you then load onto a USB device and install into the car before returning to the website to load the update / log file. This process is fine but has a limitation of only allowing the updating to a certain point in the Focus RS (and likely other models too) which for me was version 3.0. I know, however, that there is a newer version out there - version 3.4 - that brings quite a significant visual upgrade amongst other things - and I want it! I show the process from start to finish both on my computer from getting the update files required from the Ford website to preparing the USB storage device, and then moving out to the car and showing the process of uploading the new update data into the SYNC system. There is a pretty awesome resource out there that provides a custom made software tool that takes some simple information about what you have and what you would like and then downloads all the correct files, formats your nominated USB device appropriately and loads all the files onto the device - all automatically so takes any guess-work out of the install media creation process for updating beyond the official Ford levels! This software resource, as well as a host of useful information about the process and more, is provided by Cyanlabs and is completely free of charge which is super awesome! The software tool, called their SYN3 Updater, has a very intuitive interface and quite simply just works - no messing about, no over-complication, no annoying ads or malware - just a great tool to help the community! I show you the website, where to get the SYN3 Updater tool and how to use it before showing you the installation process in my Ford Focus RS MK3 - the process is super simple and requires very little interaction so really is a beautifully streamlined process from start to finish! I now have the latest and greatest Sync 3 system in My Focus RS and you too can get it too - a big thanks to Cyanlabs for providing the software, detailed information as well as hosting all the files for doing this across all territories globally! Cyanlabs say about updating to Sync 3.4: Here are some of the benefits of upgrading to Sync 3.4 - Android Auto navigation on the small screen in the Dash Cluster / Speedo. This version of sync 3 is what you find on 2020 model year ford vehicles (2020 ford explorer, fusion, ranger etc...). This update is not official and will not be released to ford vehicles running sync 3.0 because of hardware restrictions. If you have a vehicle with nav this update will also update the maps on your sync system which is usually a fee charged by ford to do so.

Sync 3 is the infotainment system for Ford vehicles. I recently updated to Sync 3.4 in my 2019 Mustang GT. Sync 3.4 update has a lot of cool features, however the best is the hidden Sync 3 menu. Sync 3 hidden menu is a great way to access diagnostics for your Ford vehicle that has Sync 3. Sync 3 hidden menu also lets you change theme for your Sync 3 infotainment system. Sync 3 hidden menu works for any Ford vehicle running at least Sync 3.0 software version. Sync 3.4 isn't required to access this hidden menu, however I recommend upgrading to Sync 3.4 system for your Ford Vehicle. In "Impostazioni generali" seleziona "Aggiornamenti automatici sistema" e imposta il pulsante su "On". SYNC 3 ti chiederà se desideri ricevere gli aggiornamenti del sistema. Seleziona "Sì".
